Solo Jazz – Battle format – Prelims : 1min spotlight of 3 to 4 duets at a time / Best 16 qualified – 1/8 and 1/4 finals : 2 rounds of 45 seconds per team + All skate at the end – 1/2 final : 2 rounds of 1min per team + All skate at the end – Final : 3 rounds of 1 min per team + All skate at the end – Dancers will be challenged to dance to the unpredictable and varied styles and tempos selected by the DJs within the Jazz music family tree. N.B: while we won’t restrict the ratio between improvisation vs set sequences, be sure to have a good balance and be ready to embrace the battle spirit (aka improvise and react on the moment). It will be on the judges appreciation to make a decision accordingly |

* Main judges and teachers can compete but can’t win NYC flight vouchers. The price will then be transferred to the next non-judge/teacher participant in ranking.
